Lindenwood University still has a limited amount of residential space on its St. Charles campus for the fall 2009 semester. In a recent interview on public television, Lindenwood President James D. Evans, Ph.D., said that one effect of the current economy seems to be that many students are waiting longer than normal to commit to a school and enroll.

Students in the Metro East area have a new opportunity in higher education with the launch this fall of a daytime program at Lindenwood’s Belleville, Ill., campus. Since its opening in 2003, the campus has been used exclusively for Lindenwood’s accelerated evening programs. The new daytime, semesterbased program will offer a range of majors, athletics programs (soccer and volleyball, initially) and student activities opportunities.

In the wake of recent cuts to the Illinois MAP grant program that have left many qualified students with a reduction in, or complete loss of, grant funding, Lindenwood has announced a new program to help those students. Using the same qualification criteria that the state does, Lindenwood will match state MAP grant funding at 2008 levels for qualified students.
