EAST ST. LOUIS > Slaying suspect arrested


David Lockridge, 39, was arrested Wednesday on a first-degree murder charge. Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Dave Wasmuth said Lockridge, of St. Louis, fatally stabbed Jerome Dickerson, 44, on Aug. 24 in the 1300 block of North 25th Street here. Police said that before dying in surgery, Dickerson told investigators that Lockridge had attacked him. Bail for Lockridge was set at $1 million.
