JEFFERSON COUNTY: Authorities ID couple killed outside nursing home
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH

Investigators on Sunday identified the estranged husband and wife killed Saturday in a hostage situation as James, 70, and Carolyn Stallings, 68, both of the 3700 block of Goldenrod Lane in De Soto.

On Saturday, deputies shot and killed James Stallings after he fatally shot his estranged wife outside Baisch Nursing Home, off Highway 67 near Highway JJ in southern Jefferson County.

Authorities said that the couple had a tumultuous relationship and that Carolyn Stallings had obtained an order of protection against her husband earlier in the week.
