EAST ST. LOUIS > Former guard is going to prison


Kenneth L. White, 45, a former corrections officer at the federal prison in Greenville, was sentenced in court on Friday to six months behind bars after admitting he lied about selling tobacco to inmates. White, of Centralia, Ill., pleaded guilty of making a false statement to a federal officer. He said two inmates paid him about $35,000 for cigarettes in 2006-07.
