Man killed in-laws, himself in Coulterville, Ill.
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
COULTERVILLE, Ill. — Police said a 35-year-old man shot his in-laws to death in his driveway on Saturday and then turned the gun on himself. Brian Morrison, 35, shot Tamara Carroll, 46, and Stanley Garbs, 52, just before midnight, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Department. The victims, who lived in Marissa, were the parents of his wife, Misti Morrison, police said. Police released a statement on Monday, but did not return calls seeking additional information. Misti Morrison had called her parents to pick up her children after having what police called a "domestic dispute" with her husband at their home in Coulterville, police said. The situation escalated after the couple arrived, and then Brian Morrison shot them with a 12-gauge shotgun in the driveway. Misti Morrison called 911 after her parents were shot. Brian Morrison then shot and killed himself, police said. Police said Misti Morrison and her children were unharmed. Coulterville is a town of about 1,200 people, about 45 miles southeast of St. Louis.
