Seven people are dead and at least 12 more wounded in a shooting at the Fort Hood army base in Killeen, Texas.

The Army confirmed the numbers of dead and wounded and closed the base.

A public information officer said that there were two shooters and one was in custody.

The Killeen Daily Herald reports that the shooting took place at a movie theater on base.
