BLACK JACK > BIDS FOR PHONE SYSTEM MULLED

BLACK JACK > BIDS FOR PHONE SYSTEM MULLED The City Council is reviewing bids for a new phone system and hopes to have an updated setup installed by January. "Our system is more than a decade old, and the equipment is no longer good," Mayor Norman McCourt noted. Bids and presentations from VoicePro and Mitel were offered to the council Tuesday night. VoicePro's was for $9,500 and Mitel's for $9,100, with the former offering a longer service guarantee. The bidding process was redone from several months ago, when only one bid was received. There were no public comments. The council indicated it would make a decision at its Nov. 17 meeting.
