Three premier homebuilders hosting spring block party
![]() McBride & Son Homes, Vantage Homes and Rockwood Homes are hosting the third-annual spring block party sales extravaganza this weekend, May 16 and 17, at all 50 of their local communities in Missouri and Illinois. This weekend, May 16 and 17, the McBride & Son Cos. of McBride & Son Homes, Vantage Homes and Rockwood Homes are hosting the third-annual spring block party sales extravaganza at all 50 of their local communities in Missouri and Illinois from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to a day of food, drinks and family fun, the companies will be offering from $2,000 to $60,000 in savings on inventory homes - and it’s the last chance for 2008 pricing. “It’s an awesome celebration,” said John F. Eilermann Jr., chief executive officer of McBride & Son Cos. “Everything is directed to the kids. This is our big thank you to the community.” The companies definitely have something to celebrate, as they have already sold 700 homes this year - making McBride & Son Cos. one of the most successful homebuilders nationwide. Eilermann expects the sales to keep rolling in, as in the case at Bellemeade in St. Peters - a two-village, single-family-home community with limited-time pricing starting in the $120,000s and $150,000s. When the community grand opened, 28 people camped out for three days just to get their choice homesite. Two weeks and two days later, 41 firm contracts have been signed. “The market is definitely turning around, and the prices will be going up soon. This is the last chance to get 2008 pricing on our inventory homes,” Eilermann said. “With these value prices, low interest rates and the first-time homebuyer tax credit of $8,000, now is a great time to buy a new home. We’re doing something right, so come out and see what it is this weekend.” Potential homebuyers will be able to meet current and future residents at the block parties as well as get a feel for the communities. There will be snow cones, ice cream, fire trucks, face painting, carnival games, prizes from local merchants, and more - every community has something different planned. In addition, Eilermann explained that all employee owners will put on a sales hat for the day, from the human resources director to the information technology expert to the receptionist. “It’s a real group effort,” he said. “We’ll be meeting and greeting, barbecuing, wearing clown costumes, working carnival games and more, giving visitors a chance to learn the dynamic of the McBride culture and meet the team who will be building their new home.” The selection includes everything from $100,000 condominiums to $500,000 homes. “There’s something for everyone,” said Eilermann.
