This weekend, June 13 and 14, Greater Missouri Builders is grand opening The Villas at Fountain Plaza, a maintenance-free community of 78 luxury Lifestyle Homes at Clarkson and Clayton roads in the well-established community of Ellisville.

Adjacent to the upscale Fountain Plaza, and connected by a lighted walkway, Kim Davison-Whalen, Greater Missouri Builders sales and marketing director, said that “this is truly a walking community. You don’t have to get in your car for the day-to-day living. You can walk to Straub’s, LifeTime Fitness, a variety of restaurants, banks or just around the block. There is so much happening here, it’s a really great location.”

Residents will have plenty of time to enjoy such area amenities, as well as hobbies, friends and family, without ever worrying about keeping up with exterior home maintenance. For $190 per month, the property will be groomed and cared for and the property insurance paid. A standard front and backyard irrigation system will even take care of the lawn. “You don’t have to worry about your home if you’re not here,” Davison-Whalen said.

Designed by Kansas City architect Mike Jantz, the Craftsman-style collection features two ranch and two 1.5-story plans, ranging from 1,971 square feet to 2,202 square feet, and brings a unique look to the St. Louis area. Volume ceilings up to 18 feet high, skylights and large, perimeter windows bring an even greater sense of spaciousness to the already open floor plans.

On display are the two-bedroom, two-bath Augusta and Clayton ranches. Elegant and modern, each is built to please. Many of the features shown come standard with the homes including brick and stone elevations (per plan); exposed aggregate driveway, front porch and walk; covered deck and front porch with metal rails; carriage-style garage doors; hardwood flooring in the foyer, kitchen and breakfast rooms; 42-inch cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and planning desk in the kitchen; adult-height vanities in the bathrooms; ceramic tile flooring in the bathrooms and laundry room; gas fireplace in the living room; two-panel smooth interior doors; 8-foot-10-inch foundation protected by Watchdog Waterproofing; and much more.

At each display, an open staircase with extra-wide stairs and an angled landing leads to the optional finished lower level, which consists of a wet bar and a third bedroom and bath. “With this staircase design you don’t feel like you’re going into a basement,” Davison-Whalen said.

The 1,971-square-foot Clayton model is Davison-Whalen’s favorite. “It doesn’t feel like you’re in a villa at all. You can see all the way through to the back when you walk in the front door. I love this house,” she said. The generous-sized breakfast room and extra-large center island make this a great home for entertaining, she added. “If you want to downsize, but you’re afraid your family won’t fit, that won’t be a problem here.”

The Clayton display is also shown with an optional see-through fireplace and hearth room in lieu of the covered deck.

Seventy-three homesites remain at The Villas at Fountain Plaza. Those in the center of the community are reserved for the three-bedroom, 2.5-bath 1.5-stories, which will adjoin at the garages. All four designs in the collection are separated by an air pocket and multiple layers of drywall and insulation, Davison-Whalen said, thus making them “very soundproof.”

Priced from the $400’s, Davison-Whalen explained that the company “really tried to price the models according to what the market is doing today.” She has already heard a positive response, too, adding, “A lot of people are anxious to get in here.”

During this weekend’s grand opening, Greater Missouri Builders will be offering $10,000 off the purchase price. Homeshoppers can also enjoy complimentary food and beverages at the community. Displays are open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Tuesday. For more information, call 636-394-8890 or visit www.FountainPlazaVillas.com.
