Tucked in a quiet, heavily wooded corner of the Meramec River Valley, just past The Country Club at the Legends, is the single-family-home community of Ashton Woods. Although somewhat hidden, The Jones Co.’s community is only minutes from Highway 44, close to shopping, and in the Rockwood School District.

“Such seclusion is normally hard to find so close to the highway,” said Jennifer Thornton, sales consultant for The Jones Co. at Ashton Woods. Homesites also offer privacy, as almost every lot backs to common ground, Thornton explained, “and people really like how much space we have between the houses.”

Homeshoppers may choose from a variety of floor plans and elevations from The Jones Co.’s Heartland and Commemorative collections at Ashton Woods.

Ranging from 1,526 to 3,062 square feet, “the homes in the Heartland Series have a great Craftsman-style look to them, which has been very popular,” Thornton said. Plus, with prices from the $183,000s to the $220,000s, “the price per square foot is amazing.”

Thornton also pointed out that a three-car garage can be added to any Heartland Series floor plan on almost any lot, and that the standard plan for most two stories includes four bedrooms and a bonus room.

Homebuyers are particularly drawn to the 1,690-square-foot Birchwood ranch − a three-bedroom, two-bath home with an open floor plan, as well as the 3,062-square-foot Rosewood two story with four bedrooms and 2.5 baths. An optional extra bedroom can be added to either design. “People love the bedroom sizes in the Rosewood − and often confuse the kids’ bedrooms with the master bedroom at first,” Thornton said. “They also like the his and her closets in the master suite.”

The larger, move-up Commemorative Series ranges from 2,346 to 3,446 square feet and is priced from the $241,000s to the $270,000s. On display from this collection is the 3,097-square-foot Belmont two story, with four bedrooms, 2.5 baths and an upstairs loft. “This home has a really smart layout with no wasted space,” Thornton said. Many homebuyers like the 20-foot-by-20-foot master suite and the optional second-floor plan with a Jack and Jill bath. The display also features a luxury extended kitchen with quartz countertops, and a finished lower level.

The 2,612-square-foot Yorkshire 1.5 story is also on display, and is available for immediate move-in. “This is a great house,” Thornton said. “It’s very dramatic.” Highlights include a two-story great room with coffered ceiling, built-in bookshelves framing the fireplace, an oversized luxury kitchen with butterfly island, butler’s pantry and desk, a Jack and Jill bath, three-car garage, and long front porch. The home is priced at $394,990, and if you close by March 30, CTX Mortgage, The Jones Co.’s sister company, is offering the homebuyer 2.5 percent interest the first year of the loan, 3.5 percent the second year, and 4.5 percent the remaining years of the loan. Certain restrictions apply. Ask the sales associate for details.

“People also like the really unique floor plan of the Winchester ranch,” Thornton said. “It is so open with the optional kitchen that it almost feels like a loft.”

The 2,346-square-foot Winchester consists of four bedrooms and two baths. The master and the secondary bedrooms are on opposite sides of the home for the upmost in privacy.
Included in the base price of every Ashton Woods home − and Jones’ homes throughout Missouri and Illinois − is the Centex Energy Advantage package, which offers a variety of energy-efficient features designed to help homebuyers cut energy usage and costs by providing better control, efficiency and insulation.

“People love the Energy Advantage package,” Thornton said. “It has been a huge deal for our customers.”

Among the long list of standards are low-emissivity windows, Energy Star-qualified Whirlpool or KitchenAid appliances, programmable thermostat, high-efficiency Lennox HVAC system, and an in-home energy monitor that enables homeowners to measure and manage their electricity consumption.

“Things that are usually expensive are now offered as standard,” she said. “[The energy-efficient features] equal so much savings for the homeowner over time and they don’t have to pay for it upfront.”

A number of homeowners have already made the move to Ashton Woods, Thornton said. “It’s a very social neighborhood. People are very friendly here.”

Displays are open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For more information, call Jennifer Thornton in the sales office at 636-938-7584.
