What would you do if you were one of the area’s top homebuilders and had achieved success building and selling homes all over the metro area? Rest on your laurels? Think again.

Mayer Homes isn’t. As a matter of fact, at the Villages at Springhurst community, Mayer is adding to their extensive product line with the new Bentley two-story display.

When asked about the flurry of activity up and down the streets, Kevin C. Bowles, sales consultant for Mayer Homes, responded, “I love seeing all the construction. In this business, mud is good.” And with several models to choose from, including the popular two-story Breashire, Mayer Homes is planning to keep a good thing going.

“Nearing the end of this economic crisis, I am sure customers are concerned about what builder to put their trust in regarding their largest investment, their new home. Mayer Homes is here to stay,” said Bowles, a 21-year veteran of Mayer, one of the last family-owned builders in the area.

Mayer Homes was just reported as the third largest builder in the St. Louis area and has launched a campaign of updated floor plans, new elevations and models, as well as has just completed it’s fourth set of new displays including those at The Villages at Springhurst.

It’s apparent that Mayer Homes likes to give homebuyers more choices. “We are adapting to the new trends in the industry with more open floor plans and new decorating ideas that are more functional to the changing demographics,” explained J. Randall Mayer, chief executive officer of Mayer Homes.

“Although Mayer’s prices in the St. Louis area range from the low-$100’s to several million, one of our main focuses is the first-time homebuyer,” he added.

“With the $8,000 tax credit, interest rates in the low 5 percent range, and great option packages, the first-time homebuyer will be the key to drawing the economy out the present situation,” said Harry Freeman, vice-president of Mayer Homes.

The Bentley model is just the trick for the first-timer or someone who wants to scale down. Part of the Manor Value Series, the display at 204 Spring Beach makes good use of its 1,600-plus square feet of living space. The home boasts a first floor with a very open floor plan that includes a kitchen with an island and walk-in pantry, a full basement, and a two-car garage. Prices will start in the $170’s.

The second floor is equally impressive with an extra-large laundry room and hall bath with linen closet. The master suite displays a king-sized bed, two closets and luxury bath. The secondary bedrooms show their size with a queen-sized bed and a full in the other. “Most displays will use smaller furniture,” said Bowles, “but this presentation shows the value of this model. At Mayer, we build a home -- not a house.

“This area is ready to explode,” Bowles continued. “A hotel-conference center is planned just across Highway N, and we’re down the street from Target, Lowe’s, Wal-Mart and several restaurants. It’s getting to be a popular location. A Great Escape movie theater recently opened nearby.”

The Springhurst community has exceptional amenities, too, including a swimming pool and cabana, sport court and gazebo. With it’s location at the southeast quadrant of the new intersection of Highway N and Highway 40, and the eventual termination of the Page Extension at N and Highway 40, this section of St. Charles County is destined to be a major residential growth area.

A grand opening is being held this weekend, and a representative from Mayer Mortgage will be on hand from 1 to 4 p.m. to answer questions about payment and financing alternatives. Buyers will have the chance to look at the available option packages, and learn more about Mayer’s exclusive 10-year warranty.
