Some escape to the country or a tropical paradise to be one with nature; As a homeowner at The Reserve at Chesterfield Village by Hayden Homes, residents live in harmony with nature on a daily basis. The result of a collaboration of designers and planners, The Reserve highlights the tranquility offered by the protected riparian corridor along its eastern border, and the dramatic views from the commanding nearby ridge. The natural theme is carried throughout the luxury community with an interactive series of linked roads, ornamental street signs, lights and mailboxes, as well as private meditation areas, green spaces filled with over 1,000 native-Missouri trees, and, in the warmer months, an abundance of wildflowers. “There’s a nice 8-foot-wide walking trail that meanders through The Reserve, culminating at the overlook to the riparian corridor,” said Dennis Hayden, president of Hayden Homes. “It really unifies the community and allows all residents to enjoy the view of the woodlands and stream, as well as the recreational lakes on the other side.” The walking path will eventually connect to what will be known as downtown Chesterfield, Hayden explained, making pedestrian such places as the central park, library, YMCA, all-new retail, office space, and more. Phases I and II, which are currently open for sales, consist of single-family homes and two-story villas designed to blend with the natural surroundings. Stately exteriors feature Regency, Craftsman and Cotswold architectural styles with quality, low-maintenance materials such as brick and stone. Sod and irrigation are provided on all single-family homesites, which are large enough to accommodate a swimming pool, and total exterior property maintenance is available to those who choose to participate. In addition to the original five single-family floor plans offered at The Reserve, ranging from 3,078 to 4,508 square feet and priced from the mid $800,000s, five new single-family designs are available, Hayden said. “We recently added some of the most popular plans from The Summit at BaratHaven - including the popular Durham and Pendleton models - and brought them up to The Reserve standards.” The new designs also feature ranch, two-story and 1.5-story homes, ranging from 2,911 square feet to 4,565 square feet. Prices start from $695,500 to $819,500. All plans are designed with flexibility in mind, and include such options as main-floor guest suites, outdoor living spaces with fireplaces, an elevator on multi-story models, finished lower levels, and more. “The Reserve portfolio is designed to offer convenience while still offering elegance,” Hayden said. “They’re all custom, as is almost everything I do.” “The single-family home interiors have some really fun features and spaces,” said Kristin Hayden Ruebsam, director of marketing. “A lot of thought went into their designs.” Hayden’s homes include numerous luxurious amenities. The 2009 list reflects Hayden’s recent revisions, as he did away with unpopular standard features, reduced overhead and renegotiated vendor contracts in order to “provide people with the opportunity to buy our homes affordably and at great value,” he said. “As in the past, we offer some nice energy conservation features as standard,” Hayden said. The package includes high efficiency heating and cooling equipment, two 50-gallon high-efficiency water heaters with rapid recovery, programmable thermostats, a humidifier on the primary HVAC system, and wood windows with low-e insulating glass, which reflect heat and protect furnishings and drapes from destructive ultraviolet rays. The Reserve at Chesterfield Village sales office is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, or by appointment.
