Winner: Slipstream-Chipotle's Danny Pate sprinted out of a breakaway, finishing alone in 4 hours, 50 minutes, 21 seconds.

Yellow jersey: Discovery's George Hincapie maintained a lead of 1:40 over Slipstream's Will Frischkorn.

Quote of the day: "Dan's an unbelievable rider and athlete." Slipstream's Brad Huff, on Pate.



Next stage: 75 miles, seven laps of a circuit that starts (1 p.m.) and ends (around 3:40 p.m.) at Union Station.
