Teams from Spain, Great Britain, Germany, Canada and Mexico round out the list of competitors in the inaugural Tour of Missouri.
Fifteen teams of eight riders each will depart from Kansas City on September 11 and trek almost 600 miles of Missouri roads, finishing in St. Louis on Sept. 16. Heading the list announced Monday is Saunier Duval-Prodir of Spain, ranked sixth on the Pro Tour in Europe. Riders from Saunier Duval have won stages in this year's Giro d'Italia and last year's Vuelta a Espana.
Other international teams announced Monday include Team DFL-Cyclingnews-Litespeed of Great Britain; German Team Sparkasse, Symmetrics Cycling of Canada, and Mexico's top pro team Tecos de la Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. Kodak Gallery is the final U.S. squad named to the field.
Teams already committed to the race are Discovery Channel, Slipstream powered by Chipotle, Health Net presented by Maxxis, Navigators Insurance, Toyota-United, BMC Racing, Colavita-Sutter Home, Jelly Belly and the USA Cycling National Development Team.
