ASSOCIATED PRESS

The Missouri Tigers basketball team raced to a 23-3 lead and never looked back in beating Truman State 96-33 on Friday night in an exhibition game at Mizzou Arena.

Forward Laurence Bowers led the Tigers by scoring 14 points and adding 12 rebounds.

The Tigers shot 49 percent and had five players in double figures, including freshman Michael Dixon, who scored 10 points in his first collegiate game.

Mizzou forced Truman State into 28 turnovers; 20 of those were steals by the Tigers.

Vesko Filchev was the high scorer for Division II Truman State with 8 points.
