Zach Collaros threw four touchdown passes and completed 22 of 28 passes to lead the visiting Cincinnati Bearcats to28-7 victory at Syracuse as they moved to 8-0 and closed within a win of the best start in school history. Collaros, playing again in place of injured quarterback Tony Pike, hit Armon Binns on scoring passes of 81 and 13 yards as Cincinnati won its 14th straight regular-season game to remain in contention for the BCS title. Collaros is a remarkable 47 of 63 (75 percent) for 749 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception this season and has rushed for 213 yards and two scores. "He's definitely a kid that understands what's going on out there," Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly said. No. 6 Boise State 45, San Jose State 7 — Kellen Moore threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another to spark the Broncos to their eighth straight win. Boise State's defense held the visiting Spartans to 223 total yards and forced two turnovers that led to touchdowns. In the last minute of the first half, the Broncos recovered a fumble deep in Spartans territory and scored four plays later on a 1-yard dive by Moore to go up 24-7. Early in the third quarter, cornerback Kyle Wilson picked off a pass and returned it 27 yards to put Boise State up 38-7. No. 8 TCU 41, UNLV 0 — Andy Dalton threw three touchdown passes, Ed Wesley scored running and catching the ball and Texas Christian's defense smothered Nevada-Las Vegas to get its first shutout of the season. TCU won its 10th consecutive game and 12th in a row at home to stay in contention for a BCS bid. No. 15 Houston 50, Southern Miss 43 — Case Keenum threw for a career-high 559 yards and had five touchdowns, his last coming with 21 seconds remaining, as the Cougars won at home. Keenum broke the tie with a 46-yard pass to Patrick Edwards. The Golden Eagles had a chance to tie it, but Martevious Young's heave from midfield was knocked down in the end zone as the final seconds ticked off the clock. Keenum's other TD passes went for 33, 55, 14 and 17 yards as Houston won its fourth straight game. James Cleveland finished with 13 catches for 190 yards, and Charles Sims ran 95 yards as the two teams combined for 1,358 yards and 66 first downs. No. 18 Miami 28, Wake Forest 27 — Jacory Harris threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Travis Benjamin with 1:08 left to rally the visiting Hurricanes to victory. Harris threw for 330 yards and three touchdowns for Miami, which trailed 27-14 going into the fourth quarter. Miami took advantage of a muffed punt to score a touchdown, then took its first lead when Harris directed an 82-yard scoring drive in the final minutes that ended with Benjamin's diving catch near the left pylon. Riley Skinner threw for 349 yards and two touchdowns for the Demon Deacons (4-5, 2-3), but may have suffered a concussion when he took a hard hit with about 6½ minutes left. He sat out the rest of the game, watching backup Ryan McManus direct Wake Forest's desperate final drive to set up a 60-yard field goal attempt from Jimmy Newman, but the kick fell well short on the game's final play. Auburn 33, No. 24 Mississippi 20 — Chris Todd passed for 212 yards, Ben Tate ran for 144 yards and Walt McFadden returned an interception for a TD as the Tigers won at home. They scored 23 points in the third quarter and turned away quarterback Jevan Snead and the Rebels seven times on drives to midfield or beyond.
