Jaguars get Anthony Smith as Rams let him go
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
While the rest of the Rams were getting some rest and relaxation over the bye weekend, safety Anthony Smith was changing teams — again. After being waived by the Rams, Smith was claimed over the weekend by Jacksonville. He was among the Jaguars' pregame inactives in their 24-21 victory Sunday over Kansas City. Jacksonville and the Green Bay Packers put in claims on Smith, but he was awarded to the Jaguars because they had a worse record than the Packers at the time of the claim. Smith was acquired by the Rams on waivers (from Green Bay) over Labor Day weekend. But he was slowed by an Achilles tendon injury in St. Louis, appearing in only two games with five tackles. His replacement on the Rams' active roster had not been determined Sunday.
