High school students will learn just what it takes to start their own business at Southwestern Illinois College this summer. The free Allsup High School Entrepreneur Academy will return to SWIC July 25-29 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Belleville campus, 2500 Carlyle Ave.

The academy offers students a chance to study existing business ideas and develop their own ideas. Students will create basic business plans and present those plans in a competition for prize money at the end of the week.

Registration requires a $25 deposit. All checks should be made to Allsup Entrepreneurship Academy and mailed to Michelle Haake, Southwestern Illinois College, Business Division–IS 2100, 2500 Carlyle Ave., Belleville IL 62221. The registration deadline is July 8.
