Regional Superintendent of Schools Marc Kiehna is proud to announce the training of an additional 50 teachers from the Chester, Columbia, Coulterville, Red Bud, Sparta and Valmeyer school districts in the continuing Math Connections program. Over the past 15 months, in fact, approximately 80 area teachers have benefited from Math Connections training in two separate grants. This vigorous program, presented in cooperation with the Intel Corporation, Arizona State University, Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, increases the math content knowledge of participating elementary school teachers and strengthens their classroom teaching techniques.
