Renowned fly casters Brad Eilering, Jim Laing and Justin Kleinhoffer are teaming up with Southwestern Illinois College to offer two noncredit fly-fishing classes through the community education department.

"Intro to Casting a Fly Rod" and "Fly-Casting II" will be offered. The five-session classes will take place on Saturdays from Sept. 3-Oct. 1, from 8 a.m.-noon.

Classes will be taught on the SWIC Belleville campus, 2500 Carlyle Ave., in the grass field, at the pond or in the classroom. The class is open to everyone over the age of 16. There is a $25 materials fee plus the $160 tuition cost. Students are encouraged to bring their own fly rod.

Eilering and Kleinhoffer are fly-casting instructors and Laing is a master fly-casting instructor, one of only 74 in the country. All of them are certified with the Federation of Fly Fishers.
