• Using age-appropriate language, have a talk with your kids as early as 5 or 6

• Know your kids' passwords, what they're putting on Facebook, their friends and what they're doing at all times

• Make sure your kids aren't using entry-level drugs: tobacco, alcohol or marijuana

• If you suspect something is going on, contact police or someone who can help
