HEALTH CARE
Gateway Regional Medical Center opened a new cardiac catheterization lab on Nov. 15. The $3.5 million dollar renovation and expansion replaced the previous lab and is located adjacent to the hospital's emergency room.
The lab features technology with improved image detailing and reduced radiation exposure. Additionally, the 2,624 square-foot space has five prep/hold rooms, a family consultation room and waiting area, private patient entrances and a physician office with remote viewing and dictation capabilities.
EDUCATION
Jim Severine, director of facilities and transportation at Riverbend Head Start & Family Services, recently became a Certified Playground Safety Inspector by the National Recreation and Park Association. The CPSI program is designed to ensure all certified individuals are qualified to inspect playgrounds for safety issues and to see that the playgrounds meet the current national standards for safety. Severine passed a nationally-administered examination.
He oversees the management of five Head Start child development centers, two leased office spaces and transportation fleet of 22 school buses, a bus depot, and 14 vans.
FINANCIAL
• Vantage Credit Union, located in 19 counties including Madison County, collected more 350 new and gently used coats and delivered them to the Missouri Credit Union Association this month for the Warner's Warm Up Campaign.
• The GCS Federal Credit Union Board of Directors declared a bonus dividend be paid out to all share savings account in November. GCS serves 38,000 members throughout Madison County.
