• Karen Lanter, of Caseyville, became the director of development and marketing for the Center for Head Injury Services in St. Louis. She was previously director of the American Lung Cancer Association in southwestern Illinois and the director of marketing at Gateway Regional Medical Center.
• Christopher Randla became a partner at Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital in Collinsville. He graduated from North Carolina State University and has been practicing veterinary science for 12 years.

Ameren Energy Resources announced last week that the company will move a new headquarters building to Collinsville. The building, located at 1500 Executive Dr., will house 120 AER employees. AER, a subsidiary of Ameren Corporation, is an Illinois merchant generation business that owns power plants and sells power on the wholesale market.

Matthew Joost, PE, of Thouvanot, Wade & Moerchen Inc., recently passed the Structural Engineering exam and received certification from the State of Illinois as a licensed structural engineer. Joost is a project engineer in TWM's Swansea office. TWM operates five locations in the metro area, including Edwardsville.

Misty Wuebbels of the law firm Blake Law Group P.C. became a member of the estates and trusts section of the Illinois Bar Association. The firm operates offices in Collinsville, Edwardsville, Belleville and Waterloo.

People in Business Inc., an accounting firm in Glen Carbon, was recently approved by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation as a provider of Certified Professional Education training. This approved the firm to provide professional education to accountants, CPAs and accounting firms. Classes planned for 2012 include training for the Registered Tax Return Preparer exam, small business taxes, payroll taxes, QuickBooks, and real estate record keeping and tax requirements.
