First time under $300: Class A misdemeanor, up to year in county jail, up to $2,500 fine

More than $300: Class 3 felony, two to five years in state prison, up to $25,000 fine

Under $300 second theft offense or more: Class 4 felony, one to three years in state prison, up to $25,000 fine

All prison time subject to probation.
