The Affton School District will soon begin taking registration for the kindergarten program for the 2012-2013 school year.

Children of district residents may be enrolled if they have reached the age of 5 years on or before July 31, 2012.

Registration will take place from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at the Mesnier School cafeteria, 6930 Weber Road; and 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Affton Early Childhood Center, 4974 Heege Road.

The parent must bring the proof of residence and official birth certificate or the child cannot be registered. Missouri state law requires students to have all immunizations before they may be allowed to start school in August. A child's enrollment will not be complete until the school nurse has received a record of all required immunizations.
