Chesterfield Day School students take part in spelling, geography bees

Chesterfield Day School students in grades 4-6 recently participated in the Scripps National Spelling Bee and The National Geographic GeoBee.

The winner of the Chesterfield Day School Scripps Spelling Bee was fourth-grader Aanjaneyaa Venkataraman and runner up was fifth-grader Haniya Habib. As the CDS winner, Aanjaneyaa will now move on to compete with other local spelling champions with the goal of reaching the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.

The Chesterfield Day School Geography Bee winner was fourth-grader Aanjaneyaa Venkataraman and runner up was sixth-grader Ben Ayers. The Geography Bee was conducted in coordination with the National Geographic GeoBee.

As the school-wide winner, Aanjaneyaa will now compete for a spot at the state-level GeoBee competition.
