Two Kirkwood High School students received awards in the Missouri Region Scholastic Writing Awards Contest. Sophomore Emily Stobbe won an honorable mention award in the poetry category for her poem, "Dear God, If You Should Find Me Last Night I Dreamed," and a Silver Award in the short story category for "The Deer." Senior Zachary Jenkins won a Silver Award for his flash fiction entry titled "The Escapist."
The pieces were selected from among 700 submissions.
