Lindbergh High School's senior class has produced nine National Merit Finalists — a record-breaking number for the school.

They are Kyle Burkhart, Kendall Helbert, William Iverson, Jacob Luciani, Mariano Marin, Quin Rich, Brian Roth, Francesca Vacca and Kelly Weiss.

About 1.5 million students enter the National Merit program each year by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

The school also has 18 international baccalaureate diploma candidates. Students in the program must successfully complete six exams, a course in theory of knowledge, a 4,000-word extended essay and a self-designed program of creativity, action and service.

The candidates are Kathryn Bewig, Liz Black, Leah Efken, Flora Forbes, Katelyn Freund, Joe Gardner, MacKenzie Hempe, William Iverson, Grace Kenney, Dan Anderson-Little, Jacob Luciani, Mariano Marin, Rachel Maxwell, Mariah Mootz, Maria Nguyen, Quin Rich, Brian Roth and Drew Wetherington,
