Twenty-three high school students in the Rockwood School District achieved finalist standing in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship competition. They are as follows.
From Eureka: Christopher Dieckhaus, James Huang, Brandon Sprenger and Connor Tinen.
From Lafayette: Elizabeth Denn, Danielle Lamar, Richard Lu, Christopher Moody, Eric Moser, Dallin Robinson, Tyler Romero, Brandon Sinanan, Deck Slone, Jessica Zadoks, Paroma Zaman and Jacob Zerr.
From Marquette: Krista Brooks, Michael Bruno, Ravali Gummi, David Huguelet, Anna Ji, Seth Shields and Rebecca Shih.
More than 1.5 million juniors from more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2012 competition when they took the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit® Scholarship Qualifying Test. As finalists, students have the chance to earn $2,500 scholarships, corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards and college-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards.
