The seventh annual Walk, Run 'n Roll for People of All Abilities achieved record-breaking numbers for both attendance and money raised.

More than 1,500 people gathered in Creve Coeur Park on May 7 and raised more than $164,000 for 10 St. Louis-area agencies that serve people with developmental disabilities. Partners were the Center for Autism Education, the Center for Head Injury Services, Community Living Inc., Emmaus Homes, Giant Steps, Life Skills, Pathways to Independence, the Pujols Family Foundation, Rainbow Village and TouchPoint Autism Services.

"We believe that through joining together, we can create more awareness about people with cognitive and developmental disabilities and their contributions to our community," said Wendy Sullivan, president of Life Skills.

Corporate teams, families and individuals were invited to walk, run or roll using skates, wheelchairs, strollers and wagons for pledged donations. Adam Goldberg of the St. Louis Rams led the walk as grand marshal. KTVI Fox 2's Glenn Zimmerman and KPLR 11's Christine Buck served as co-emcees.

The event featured live music by Wite Lite, Zumba classes from Club Fitness, face painting and a bounce house. The event also included a resource and health fair, where more than 50 vendors offered resources and information for families and for people with cognitive or developmental disabilities.
