Storms hit Ballwin

Ballwin will be conducting a curbside brush pick up as a result of the New Year's Eve storm.

Residents interested in curbside pick up should call John Hoffman, the city's deputy director of parks, at (636) 227-2423 before Jan. 10 with their address for pick up.

Linda Bruer, director of parks and recreation for the city, said workers are in the process of clearing fairways at the Ballwin Municipal Golf Course on Holloway Road so that people can play. The storm uprooted about nine or ten trees on holes 7, 3 and 4 of the nine-hole course, she said.

"We'll be removing larger trees when we can. But, the way the trees were uprooted, they were pretty much off the greens, fairways and tees, so we're fortunate there wasn't any worse damage," Bruer said.
