Control Devices was looking for a place to consolidate its three locations under one roof. The management looked all over the St. Louis region, then chose a spot in Fenton.
The company hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, Feb. 16, marking the opening of its new 100,000-square-foot manufacturing plant at 1555 Larkin Williams Road. Although Control Devices started at its new location on Jan. 30, the ribbon-cutting was the official opening.
Control Devices LLC opened in 1963. It manufactures and assembles flow-control, power washer and fire suppression pressure valves that are used around the country, said Kate Boyd, executive assistant to Chief Executive Officer Tom Stadtmueller.
The company, which has more than 250 employees, grew over the years with sites in Brentwood, St. Clair and Pacific. The company decided that it was time to bring all of its employees under one roof, making manufacturing, storing and shipping easier.
"We looked at 30 different places," Boyd said. "Fenton met all of our needs. It's in a good location. We're very excited about it."
The company still has 10 job openings in manufacturing and management, she said. For information on employment at Control Devices, go to www.cdivalve.com.
