Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an armed robbery that took place Thursday at a home in Chesterfield.
About 10:15 p.m., a man armed with a gun forced his way into a home in the 13000 block of LaBarge Drive and robbed the owner and his wife of jewelry, Capt. Steve Lewis said.
Lewis said police believe that the robber may have been a customer or in some way known the homeowner, who works in the jewelry business.
The robber is described as white, about 35 to 45 years of age, 5-feet-10 to six-feet tall, and weighing 160 to 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, camouflage jacket and baggy blue jeans.
Police are seeking any information regarding the identity of the man or witnesses to the crime.
A $5,000 reward is being offered by a local business and the Pawnbrokers Association for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
Anyone with information should call the Chesterfield Detective Bureau at (636) 537-3000 or St. Louis Crime Stoppers at (314) 725-8477.
