Cards better off without Albert
Somebody asked me what I thought about Albert Pujols leaving the Cardinals and going to Anaheim, and I told him, No. 1, he's a greedy pig, but that's just the way it goes. It's a business deal. He could've stayed here and been a superstar for his Cardinal career and been another Stan Musial. But greed got to him, I guess. Actually it's a blessing for the Cardinals. Now they won't go into debt for the next 10 years. They can go out and get some really good players and bring up some from the farm club. I look forward to this coming year. Maybe Albert will be sitting on the couch at home watching the Cardinals in the World Series.
The cold doesn't cause a cold
When will people learn that they do not get a cold from the cold? They get it from a cold virus. This is in reference to the letter in Town Talk about "Put on a coat."
Blogojevich has evil tongue
Rod Blogojevich was very intelligent. He was doing well, married, children. Years ago he was on a telephone interview taped on television, and his words were hateful and disgusting, sinful. People who say such things and say they are a Christian. They do not even keep God's commandment. And his children were in the room. How can you respect your father? He had everything going for him. He wanted for nothing, and still he couldn't keep a decent tongue. And another thing: the veterans at Pearl Harbor who were 24 years old said they came back with the hearing of 50-year-olds from all the guns and the noise. And we, the parents and children, today deliberately are making ourselves deaf.
Pujols ventriloquist act
Well, we know who wears the pants in the family. What a ventriloquist act. Charlie McCarthy had Edgar Bergen. Albert Pujols has Deidre Pujols. What a joke these two are.
City gift vouchers ridiculous
Once again, Chesterfield city disappoints the citizens, giving the employees $200 gift vouchers for the holidays. How ridiculous they are. And the mayor is a joke. People are losing their jobs. They're taking cuts in hours. How dare they. As a citizen, I'm appalled by this. Shame on you.
Cards didn't offer market value
I cannot believe Cardinal fans are piling on Albert Pujols. They must believe Cardinal management actually offered a 10-year, $210 million contract. With the worst offer of four, Cardinal management never offered market value. For them, not Albert, it was always about the money.
Taxpayers buying phones for poor
Thank you, Channel 4, for bringing the cell phone giveaway to our attention. When I couldn't afford a cell phone, I did without one. You don't go hungry or freeze without a cell phone. Giving multiple phones to poor people at taxpayer expense is obviously another case of the government being bought out, this time by cell phone company lobbyists.
