The Fort Zumwalt North varsity cheerleading squad will host a cheerleading competition from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 5 in the gymnasium of the school, 1230 Tom Ginnever Ave. in O'Fallon, to raise money for the Megan Meier Foundation and the Jake Sebestyen Fund.
Megan was 13 and living in Dardenne Prairie when she took her life in 2006 following a MySpace hoax. Jake Sebestyen had finished his freshman year at Zumwalt North High when he took his life in June 2009.
The event, called Cheer UP!, will include several competitions. The deadline to sign up is Oct. 15.
Tina Meier, Megan's mother, will speak at the event.
