New principal chosen for school in St. Charles

The St. Charles Board of Education on Thursday approved the selection of Beth Bartell as principal of Jefferson Intermediate School.

Bartell will take over as principal July 1. Jefferson Principal Kim Harris will become assistant superintendent of human resources for the district.

Bartell, currently the principal of Winfield Middle School, was a teacher in the Francis Howell School District for eight years and also taught sixth grade in the Festus School District. She received a bachelor's degree in middle school education from Missouri State University in 1998, a master's degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University in 2007 and is pursuing an education specialist degree at Missouri Baptist University.
