In concert

The Emmett P. Taylor Band is scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at New Creation Presbyterian Church, 105 Creekside Office Drive in Wentzville. Admission is free. Passion play

The New Melle Community Passion Play will begin rehearsals in February for the Easter presentation of the last days in the life of Christ.

No acting experience is necessary, as there are many nonspeaking parts as crowd members and disciples. Costumes are provided.

Actors and choir members will meet at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at Friedens Peace United Church of Christ, 3560 Mill St. in New Melle. The actors will then meet at 7:30 p.m. Mondays until March 19, when nightly rehearsals will begin at the New Melle Sports Center.

After the first meeting, those interested in being part of the choir will meet at 2 p.m. Sundays, beginning Feb. 12, at the church. The choir will join the actors for the nightly practice March 19 at the Sports Center.

Shows will be presented in the New Melle Sports Center's main building at 7 p.m. March 24; 2 and 4:30 p.m. March 25; 7 p.m. March 31; and 2 and 4:30 p.m. April 1. For more information, visit "New Melle Passion Play" on Facebook or call Donna Curdt at 636-634-1150.

Auditions

Auditions for a production of "South Pacific" at Wentzville Christian Church, 1507 Highway Z, are scheduled from 1-5 p.m. Feb. 19 and 6-9 p.m. Feb. 20. Those auditioning should come prepared to sing a song of their choosing (accompanist will be provided) and bring their own sheet music. For more information, call Tammy at 636-219-3238.
