Mercy, a health care provider based in Chesterfield, announced a ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 16 for construction of its new medical building at 1820 Zumbehl Road in St. Charles.

The new facility, expected to open in October, will house family and internal medicine as well as cardiologists and cardiac diagnostic services. Imaging and laboratory services also will be provided.

The building will be among the first to incorporate new Mercy design principles, including use of natural materials throughout, easier access to entry ways and a covered vehicle drop-off area, according to a news release.

Mercy Hospital St. Louis President Jeff Johnston and Mercy Clinic President Dr. John Hubert will lead the ground-breaking. Refreshments will follow in an adjacent storefront.
