An O'Fallon man has been charged with the Aug. 5 robbery of the Circle K store at 2035 Highway K.
The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's Office on Wednesday charged Joshua T. Gollaher, 20, of the 800 block of Barbara Drive, with first-degree robbery. Gollaher provided a written confession, according to the prosecutor's office.
Police say they received a call about 2:46 a.m. about a man who entered the store disguised, inferred he had a weapon and demanded money from an employee.
He wore a bandana on his face, a gray long-sleeve sweatshirt, blue jean shorts, black tennis shoes and carried a gray backpack. The suspect's right hand was concealed in the backpack as though he was carrying a weapon. He left with an undisclosed amount of money. The employee was not injured.
Gollaher was later identified and arrested by O'Fallon police. Bond was set at $75,000.
