The O'Fallon Police Department announced the addition of a prescription drug take back drop box for our residents to discard old or unused medications.

Unused or expired prescription medications can be placed in the box in the lobby of the O'Fallon Police Department at 100 N. Main St. between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The box is intended to handle small quantities of medications for individuals and not businesses. The police department will continue to partner with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's bi-annual prescription drug take back events, the next one in O'Fallon scheduled from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 28 at the police department.

Residents who have large amounts of unused medications are asked to take them to the take back events. Police, however, will not be equipped to accept sharp, glass, radioactive or bio-hazardous materials. For more information, call Sgt. Robert Kendall at 636-379-5680.
