Police search for man who robbed undercover officer

St. Charles police were searching for a man they said robbed an undercover officer at gunpoint on Jan. 25.

The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued warrants for first-degree robbery and armed criminal action against Terrance T. Norman, 19, who's last known address was 1648 Eagle Valley Drive in St. Louis.

Norman is described as a black male, 5-foot 7-inches tall, weighing 180 pounds with black hair and shoulder-length dreadlocks. He has several tattoos on his chest, shoulders, neck and arms.

According to police, the undercover officer was attempting to purchase a handgun from Norman at 2000 S. Highway 94 in St. Charles. Norman agreed to sell a handgun and agreed to the price with the officer. At 4:15 p.m., Norman met the officer and a cooperating individual. Norman counted the money used to buy the gun before removing another gun he had hidden in his clothing. Norman loaded that gun with hollow-point rounds, pointed it at the officer and told him not to move.

The officer and cooperating individual did as Norman ordered, and Norman fled with the handgun and money in a vehicle driven by another person.

Norman should be considered armed and dangerous, police said. The St. Charles Crime Stoppers offered a reward for information leading to Norman's arrest. Anyone with information about Norman's whereabouts should contact St. Charles police at 636-949-3300 or call anonymously at 636-949-3333.
