I read the letter from Dan Krattli (Dec. 21 Journal) about the lady paying for his dozen eggs at Aldi's in O'Fallon. He paid it forward big time.

Just before Christmas I shopped at the same Aldi's and didn't know they didn't accept personal checks and arrived at the check-out with a loaded cart. I would have had to leave without my groceries, but the gentleman in line behind me offered to take my check and paid the cashier ninety-plus dollars for my groceries. The man is Dan Krattli.
