Anne Zerr of St. Charles announced she has filed as a Republican candidate for state representative from the 18th District.
Voters will choose party nominees in the Aug. 5 primary elections. Primary winners will advance to the Nov. 4 general election.
The 18th District seat has been vacant since Tom Dempsey won the 23rd District seat in the Missouri Senate in a special election last September.
Zerr has served as executive director of Partners for Progress, adult admissions director for Lindenwood University, director of policy development for former St. Charles County Executive Joe Ortwerth, local government manager for the East-West Gateway Council of Governments and director of community affairs for SSM St. Joseph Hospital West.
