The trip • The family's trip out West also took them to the park's Four Corners site, where visitors can see parts of Colorado, Arizona, Utah and New Mexico all from one spot.

Travel tip • Because no restaurants are inside the park, Lynette O'Brien suggests packing lunches and bringing plenty of water.
