Help your neighbors in
need this holiday season
Sponsored content provided by Laura Strom, Brand Ave. Studio contributing writer

Susan, 56, lives in a small home in
the St. Louis area with her son, who is
disabled, and her daughter. Both Susan
and her son have serious health issues.
These physical problems prevent Susan from working full-time at her job.
Trying to help provide for the family,
Susan’s daughter divides her time taking college courses, helping her mom,
caring for her brother and working a
part-time job.
Unfortunately, even with two sources of income, Social Security and employment, Susan earns very little per
month, not enough to pay all the bills
while caring for her son. Her constant
dilemma is which of her bills receive
priority to be paid; she is simply unable to stay current on all her monthly
debts. After juggling those expenses,
there is not much left over for utilities,
food and other household costs.
Neighbors helping neighbors. That’s
what the Society of St. Vincent de Paul

is all about – the organization provides
food, shelter, clothing, medicine, pays
for utilities and more for people in need
throughout the St. Louis region.
Home visits from volunteer members of the Society of St. Vincent de
Paul help assess and determine the
needs for those they serve. The organization takes time to learn what neighbors need and offer meaningful help
through the thrift stores and a variety
of other programs.

give to your neighbors in need this holiday season and throughout the year.
All donations and volunteer efforts
benefit people in neighborhoods right
here in the St. Louis region.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul
is one of the oldest and well-respected
charities in St. Louis since 1845. Volunteer members follow Christ’s call to
serve the poor, the suffering and the deprived. Learn more at svdpstlouis.org.
