The beginning of this St. Louis iconic firm dates to 1668 when King Louis XIV granted the family the title of “Confiseur of Imperial.” According to the company website, confections today continue to be made using original recipes from the 1899 Bissinger Family Cookbook. Innovative adaptations to the chocolate the family has perfected include apple ghost chili salt caramel.
