Another store on some St. Louisans' retail wish-list will be crossed off next week when West Elm opens a store in the St. Louis Galleria.
The 8,385-square-foot store, the first West Elm store in the region, will open Thursday, July 25.
The modern home furnishings retailer started off as a catalog in 2002 and is part of the same company that operates Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma. It sells furniture, home decor, and gifts.
The West Elm store at the Galleria will have some local touches with handcrafted items from eight local artists sourced through Etsy. (Those artists are Gallery Zoo Art, Belles and Ghosts, Sucre Shop, Sprouted Designs, ReAuthored, Two Wheel Designs, Grindstone Design Studio, and Artistic Agrarian.)
West Elm now has about 50 stores, most of which are in the U.S.
The St. Louis area store is one of 11 new West Elm stores expected to open this year.
