Looks like Capital Innovators, the St. Louis technology accelerator fund that made its first investments last month, has some staying power. The fund recently started taking applications for its second class of five startup companies.
Capital Innovators' first five companies moved into the StartUp St. Louis space in the Railway Exchange Building last month. The fund invests $50,000 in each company, and they get intensive mentoring and free rent during the 12-week accelerator program. In December, it plans to invite venture capitalists and other potential investors to a "graduation" program for the startup firms.
The fund says its second class will begin in February. It's encouraging entrepreneurs to
simply tell us who you are and how you are going to change the world with your innovative new product or service. Anyone with a tech-related business is encouraged to apply.
Capital Innovators said it had 165 applicants for its first five slots.
