Anheuser-Busch will be picking up the fare for several hundred cab rides in the St. Louis area this weekend, part of the brewer's responsible drinking programs.

A-B is not paying for all taxi fares. You have to be riding in a Laclede Cab, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. this Friday or Saturday and must be going from a public place (a bar) to a private residence. (In other words, A-B will not be subsidizing bar-hopping.)

Riders will learn only once they reach their destinations if they are among the lucky ones. (Like with Cash Cab.)

A-B said the goal of the free cab rides is to "build on Anheuser-Busch’s legacy of encouraging responsible drinking and preventing drunk driving".
