Allegiant Air and United Airlines on Friday announced new routes to three South Carolina airports, a day after Spirit Airlines started flights out of St. Louis Lambert International Airport.

Allegiant is adding two nonstop flights per week to Charleston from MidAmerica St. Louis Airport in Mascoutah, starting on Friday.

United also began three-times-a-week service to both Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach on Friday, departing from Lambert.

“As restaurants, attractions, and parks continue to open again, we know vacationers are looking ahead to summer travel with great excitement,” Drew Wells, Allegiant senior vice president of revenue and planning, said in a statement.

Allegiant is offering discounted fares to Charleston, with some one-way tickets available for $65. The rate is available through Sunday May 30 for flights before Aug. 16.
